The Pearson 41?? Ever since the "Great Rudder Escapade", I have been in need of some other major "slice and dice" project on my 40. After writing my "Best P-40 Sail Inventory" note I have been longing for a Code 0 Gennaker. The Annapolis Boat Show did me in and I ordered a new "G-0" (North's Code 0). The Code 0 requires a bowsprit to set properly and I had been tinkering with a bowsprit for some time in an effort to make anchor handling easier. I have always liked the bowsprit on the Saga 43 and the Aerodyne 47 Saga 43 Aerodyne 47 So I decided to copy the best of their designs for the P-40. This is how it turned out.
There is a tang attached to the front of the sprit for the Code 0. Since the bowsprit adds 13" to the overall length, I suppose I now own a Pearson 41! I guess I may be forced to leave the P-40 group and go start a new association for the Pearson 41... all one of them.
